DESIGN

Design

Excellent buildings are incredibly challenging to build or renovate without high quality designs. Each detail missing from a field sketch, architectural drawing, or engineering blueprint, is potentially an unanswered question or misaligned joint, when on site. And practical designs are challenging to mock up without the help of professionals who are knowledgeable in the building process itself.

Our design resources include

master level carpenter trade experience, extensive understanding of codes and permitting processes, familiarity with local ecological factors (soil, water tables etc.), and close contacts with engineers and architects.

BUILD

Build

Create a home, garage, deck, guest suite, barn, or anything else that stands proudly in your mind's eye. We not only have the skills and resources to lay proper foundations, handle the challenges of dynamic plumbing and electrical layouts, and frame an effective structural outline of your dream build-- our extensive experience in high end finish work helps us make early decisions and execute those initial steps with the final details in mind. We set ourselves up for success at every point along the way, so that when the time comes to install trim, caulk joints, and install finished fixtures, our cutouts are tight and our surfaces plumb, level, and square.

Erecting a building from start to finish requires efficient coordination between a wide array of disciplines: local agencies, concrete and masonry, various stages of carpentry, insulation, plumbing, electrical, painting, and even more with custom designs. Our experience in a variety of trades, together with industry connections, allow us to effectively coordinate this process the whole way through, knowing which areas can become time bottlenecks and where time is better spent to yield an excellent product to your satisfaction. With full insurance coverage, top of the line equipment, an experienced team, and a culture of respect and professionalism, your new build project comes with security and peace of mind from the start right until the very end.

RESTORE

Restore

A formative period in Gino's professional education was work in historical restoration. The work of restoration can be called for a number of reasons: a government designated historical site, the importance of a local building to the community, the sentimental value of a family home, or admiration for the structures that lived long before us. Restoration requires expertise, curiosity and care. How do different substrates degrade (or season) with age? Which parts of a structure bear the most important aspects of its character? How have building techniques changed over time, and what technologies are compatible with those of the past?

Even if your project doesn't require highly technical restoration, we bring this expertise, curiosity and care to all of our work, giving close attention to all the work in our hands.

RENOVATE

Renovate

New England is home to some of the oldest buildings in the country, and with that comes the need for not just newer appliances and more modern open floor plans, but addressing important structural factors like dry rot or settling. Whether it's a new kitchen or bath, interior updates or exterior updates, our finish work depends on the solidity of the larger building.

When we refinish a den, we make sure the ceiling is level and the walls are plumb, so that dark paint won't highlight the irregularities of a settling house.

We never repair water damage without finding the leak, or leave any problematic prior plumbing behind cleanly installed fixtures. We will work with you to craft the functional and visual update you want, balancing the necessary structural considerations with an appropriate level of finish you desire, with a final product that is cost sensible, without sacrificing excellent quality.
